Does Your Horse Get Excitable Before Travelling?

Many horses become excitable, anxious, or reluctant when it’s time to load or travel, and it’s a common challenge for owners. But small changes to your pre-travel routine can make a noticeable difference.

Meet Grace & Flyte

Grace’s 10-year-old British Sports Horse, Flyte, is energetic, talented, and full of personality. Together they compete at Pony Club and unaffiliated shows, forming a strong bond both on the ground and over fences.

The Challenge: Excitability and Difficult Loading

Despite loving his work, Flyte could become overly excited before loading, making travelling days more stressful and unpredictable.

The Solution: A Simple Pre-Travel Routine That Made a Difference

Grace and her mum, Kathryn, introduced the Equine Magnetix Rug as part of his routine, and it quickly became a valuable tool for helping Flyte settle before travelling, as well as supporting his post-exercise recovery.

Using the rug for around 20 minutes before loading helps Flyte approach the trailer in a calmer, more focused state.

What Grace and Kathryn Noticed

“We bought the Magnetix rug for Flyte to aid his recovery; especially after a show, hack, schooling or a lesson.

We have also found that it has really helped Flyte when it comes to going out in the trailer. He can get excitable, so we pop his rug on 20 mins before we leave and can honestly say he has a much calmer approach to loading which, on past occasions, has been quite a challenge.

We have all benefitted from using the Magnetix rug and think Flyte totally rocks the blue spotty look.”

A Real Change in Flyte’s Loading Behaviour

Kathryn also shared an extra update that really highlighted the difference they were seeing:

“My daughter’s boy LOVES his Magnetix rug! Flyte can be stubborn to load, but he walked straight on to his trailer this evening! I’m making the assumption he felt less stressed about the whole ordeal. Thanks Sam, lovely product.”

Stories like this show how the right routine, paired with the right magnetic support, can help create calmer, more positive travelling experiences.

Could Magnetic Therapy Support Your Horse Too?

If your horse becomes excitable before travelling, struggles with loading, or could benefit from the whole host of additional advantages the magnetic rug offers, introducing magnetic therapy into your routine could make a real difference.
